Speak was one of the most powerful books I have ever read!
The struggle Melinda went through, with no one wanting to talk to her to the reminder of what happened that night at the party, feels so real

The book was amazing. I read it in two days. Sometimes it was hard reading because of all the maniac depression, cutting, and obsessions Lia goes through, but I felt everything she felt through my bones. I'm still trying to understand some things, trying to figure my way through my maze of thoughts, just like in life, but that is all part of the real joy of reading.

i think im a manic depressive. im afraid of falling down into a spiral of black....im scared of going into a dark vortex where no one can find me. speak helped me speak. more through writing, but speaking all the same. that, and a traumatic experience. wintergirls. i loved it, but it made me feel bad. and gross. i screamed at myself. i thought no one heard, no one was home, but my little brother was. he heard. not clearly, though.

Speak,
I read speak two years ago.
I have read it 112 more times since i
first heard of it.
I have had a huge secret since i was
seven years old and I have never told anyone.
and i still havent told anyone.Reading speak made me feel like i wasn't alone that there are many secrets.I have read wintergirls once.(my friend is borrowing my book.)
I have read all of laurie anderson's book.
But speak will always be my favorite book.
I love speak.and i will love it forever.

I have read Speak, Twisted, Catalyst, and Wintergirls. I loved all of them. My favorites were Speak and Wintergirls. In Speak you feel as if you are her, and your going through her problems. You feel as if your going through her pain and fear. I loved it. Wintergirls captures Anorexia magnificently. I loved how you wrote the calories of everything she ate in the book. It also captured the mind of someone with it. I now have a better understanding of it. Thank you for writing these books. I couldn't stop reading them. I hope you write another book like these two. If so, I cannot wait to read them. -Sierra G., MN
